Mood Board | Calmness, Relaxation and Contemplation

Every morning we are born again. What we do today matters most. -Buddha

I’ve been a bit overwhelmed lately keeping up with photo jobs — BIDDING on and HOPING for more jobs, looking for a day job with recruiters that don’t necessarily have my best interest at heart, and trying in general to remain positive. Buddha would have been so disappointed with me lately. He teaches us about mind chatter and that we can be our own worst enemy. We can become so enmeshed in what is happening or what could happen that we miss living in the present moment and appreciating exactly where we are in life. I had two successful engagement sessions but after working on some editing last night I decided to research photographers doing the same as me. And where did I lead myself? Right into feeling not good enough. How will I ever be this good? What equipment are they using? Did they go to school? Where are they getting their clients from? Before I knew it I completely forgot about the work I had recently done that I was proud of.  I woke up this morning and although I have images to work on, I felt I deserved a break and wanted to do something creative that would be soothing and therapeutic. So I thought of a mood board. I’ve always LOVED seeing these online and wanted to give it a try. They are typically made by designers for inspiration, but I believe they can be done as a creative project that acts as a refresher for our daily lives. Oftentimes a color palette is chosen and designers look for images that compliment that palette. Other times people pick a topic and look for images that inspire them. This morning I chose blue. Color psychology says that blue actually creates a sense of calmness and relaxation. Blue is also a color that enhances contemplation. All the images used were found online and are not my images. There are links below that show where I found them. Have a magical weekend and see you back here soon!
